Most Reliable Board of Trustees of LASCOMED,
Most wonderful LASCOMED members, ladies and gentlemen.
I am delighted to stand before you today as the president of this great society (LASCOMED). I would like to congratulate my people, starting from the pathfinders (BOT) members, management and the staff for the great development milestone achieved in the provision of a befitting home and a cooperative hospital, first of its kind in the cooperative movement of Nigeria.
This may sound an exaggeration, but for the fact that this is made possible through self finance without accessing credit from the bank and within a period of four years, you will agree with me that this is an exemplary achievement. It shows the power of cooperation.
The journey started few years ago with a mission statement by the management to provide a befitting home and job opportunity for its professional members retired and members still in service through building a hospital aimed at complementing the effort of government in the area of health service delivery.
I have no doubt that this will bring economic growth in this town particularly in generating employment. Fortunately we have in our midst the drivers of infrastructural developments in Lagos State who will help in fast tracking quick improved road network around here for the purpose of providing an efficient health service to the people.
Today is not for me to bore you with a lengthen speech, but to express my profound gratitude to God and the cooperative movement. Also worthy of appreciation is the contractor in person of Arch. Majekodunmi without whom today may not have been a reality.
In conclusion, I want to thank my team and LASCOMED members for their support and also enjoined them to keep the flag flying.
I hope to see you all at the AGM next week by God’s grace.
