Co-operative News

The Global News Hub from Co-operative News — the world’s oldest co-operative newspaper (est. 1871) — features articles about co-operatives around the world and provides an opportunity for the sector to contribute stories. The Hub builds a picture of co-operative enterprise and initiatives plus provide a platform for co-operators to engage with each other.

COPAC

COPAC is a committee made up of the cooperative movement and the United Nations and its agencies. Members work together on equal terms to promote and coordinate sustainable cooperative development by promoting and raising awareness on cooperatives, holding policy dialogues and advocating policies that enable cooperative success, working together on technical cooperation activities and sharing knowledge and information.

Eurisce

Euricse (European Research Institute on Cooperative and Social Enterprises) is a research centre designed to promote knowledge development and innovation for the field of cooperatives, social enterprises, commons and non profit organisations.

Fenwick Weavers

The Fenwick Weavers go online in 2011 – just months after celebrating their 250th anniversary. The Fenwick Weavers’ Society was a professional association created in the village of Fenwick, East Ayrshire, Scotland in 1761. In 1769, the society formed a consumer co-operative for the benefit of members.

United Nations

The United Nations is an international organization founded in 1945 after the Second World War by 51 countries committed to maintaining international peace and security, developing friendly relations among nations and promoting social progress, better living standards and human rights.

The UN delcared 2012 the International Year of Co-operatives to raise public awareness of the invaluable contributions of cooperative enterprises and highlight the strengths of the cooperative business model as an alternative means of doing business.
